Pressing Issues

What is the best temperature for pressing Dye Sub transfers?

As each heat press is different it is very hard to say exactly what the best temp will be for you and your pressings. The Dye Sub process needs to have the heat set to a minimum of 380°F in order for the inks to convert to a gas ( the required action needed to allow the image to set on your item ). Most presses get the best result when they are in the 395-405°F range. In this range you can normally do pressings with times of about 40-60 seconds. With each press you will probably have to do a few sample pressings to be able to determine the exact heat needed to press your items, but once you determine this number, it should not change for future pressings.
