Fabric
What type of fabric should I use when doing Dye Sub? |
|
The only fabric that you should ever use when doing Dye Sublimation is 100% Polyester. When pressed the Dye Sub ink will only dye the polyester threads in the fabric. If you have an item that is 50% Cotton and 50% Polyester the print 'may' look fully saturated when pressed, but when washed half of the ink will be washed away as the dye does not dye the Cotton threads. If you try to Dye Sub a 100% Cotton item it with have 'some' print coverage and it will have a 'grunge' or 'faded' look after its first wash. For fully color saturated Dye Sub Printing and Pressing, please use only 100% Polyester items for the best results.
