Do I have to use a special coated fabric or can I use any Polyester item when using Dye Sublimation? |

There really is no 'special' coating needed on the item. As long as you have a 100% Polyester ( or the highest Polyester ratio you can get ) you will be able to do Dye Sub Pressings. You can purchase items from S&K to press, or you can purchase your own from almost any store. You just need to keep the Cotton ratio as close to 0% as possible as the Dye Sub ink will not stick to/dye the Cotton fibers. The higher the Cotton ratio, the more faded the Dye Sub pressed item will look AFTER its first wash.
